To celebrate the brave Americans who fought and are currently fighting, Golden Corral restaurants across the country offer every veteran a free meal on the Monday following Veterans’ Day. This year, I was invited by the DAV, Disabled American Veterans, to come out to the Golden Corral in Irving, TX to greet our Veterans and help raise funds for the DAV organization. Having friends who currently serve in our Armed Forces and have family who once served our country, it was a huge honor for me to accept this invitation. It was encouraging to see the large numbers of people who came out to enjoy a great meal and support our troops at the same time. One generous man even dropped a $100 dollar bill in the donation box! That night truly showed how me what American spirit looks like when we come together to support the brave men and women who selfishly fight for our freedom. Thank you to each and everyone who serve our country, and thank you Golden Corral for serving over one million free meals on Military Appreciation Monday.
